We launched the book at an event on Friday, November 12th at North Point Youth Center (formerly Grandma Ray’s).
Students and teachers who were involved with the project received free books and special hand-bound editions were donated to the school library and the Grand Marais Library
SQUEEZED has been a project of WISE, the Women’s Initiative for Service and Education, and was funded with grants from the Karen Smaby Estate and the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation.

Karen was a local entrepreneur, charter member of the Grand Marais Fiber Guild, an instructor at North House Folk School, and devoted much time working with school kids to teach them the arts of book binding.
